  I'll start off by being clear: my fiance' loves Loft. Shops there all the time at various locations, has been part of their rewards for a long time. Last time in the downtown store, they asked her if she wanted to get the "chip card" as the employee put it. My fiance' asked several times if it would pull her credit score (which would be the deal breaker) and thus lower it, which the employee promised it would not. She was clearly incorrect, as her credit WAS pulled. She received a nice new MasterCard and a nice relatively sizable credit score drop.
